Born in Rourkela, Odisha, India, Bibhu Mohapatra is an acclaimed Indian-American couturier whose New York atelier has become synonymous with bold color, sculptural form, and red-carpet excellence. He studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where he received the Critics' Award for Best Evening Wear Designer, then honed his craft during a decade at J. Mendel before launching his eponymous label in 2008.
